Founded by Cynthia Wood and Antonia Poland, Davis Wayne’s is more than just a restaurant—it’s a tribute to family. The name comes from their fathers, a heartfelt nod to the generations that inspired their love for Southern cooking. Cynthia and Antonia have created a space where great food and warm hospitality go hand in hand. Davis Wayne’s shows a commitment to fresh ingredients and made-from-scratch meals.

Upscale Southern Comfort in Ooltewah

On our visit, I went with the roast beef, served up with mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato casserole, and the cornbread. If you’re wondering about the cornbread, let me tell you—it was perfectly golden, buttery, and soft, just the way cornbread should be. Every bite paired beautifully with the rich flavors of the roast beef and creamy mashed potatoes. It was the kind of cornbread that makes you want to order extra just so you can take it home for later.

The roast beef itself was melt-in-your-mouth tender, cooked to perfection, and smothered in a savory gravy that made everything taste even better. And that sweet potato casserole? It was practically dessert, but I’m not complaining. It had just the right amount of sweetness, with a smooth texture that was pure comfort.

Brad, on the other hand, took one bite of his parmesan chicken and declared it “next level.” He paired it with green beans, more macaroni and cheese, and, of course, that delicious sweet potato casserole. Every dish he tried was a standout, but the macaroni and cheese stole the show—creamy, cheesy, and indulgent. There was no doubt that everything on the plate was made with care and attention to detail. No leftovers here!

The atmosphere at Davis Wayne’s is cozy but upscale, making it perfect for date night, a family dinner, or just a good excuse to eat like a king. And did I mention they have a full-service bar? Because nothing pairs better with comfort food than a well-crafted cocktail.
